High-Quality Dental Implants in Cabramatta
Dental Implants Cabramatta
In the past, a dental bridge was used to replace a missing tooth.
This method requires the removal of two healthy teeth next to the gap to place a three-unit bridge.
Dental implants have gained much popularity and favour over the last ten years to replace missing teeth.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are titanium-based artificial tooth root replacements surgically implanted into the jaw to replace missing roots and allow crowns or bridges to be placed.
Cabramatta Dental Care’s expert dentists will give you proper advice on what type of dental implant placements best suits your actual needs based on your oral condition.

Components of Dental Implants
Dental implants have three parts: the body, the abutment, and the porcelain crown.
Examine each component and its function in the dental implant procedure.
The body. The body is made of titanium, the same expensive material used in aircraft and ships. Because it is lightweight and highly durable, it is used for dental implants.
It is also known for its biocompatibility, which means the human body rarely rejects it. During a brief surgical procedure, this implant is inserted into the gum where the tooth is missing. It has an open cylindrical shape and resembles a screw.
The abutment. It is typically constructed of porcelain, gold, or titanium.
The implant and abutment are joined together by a screw. And the abutment is shaped like a crown to be placed on top of it.
The crown. The component of a dental implant that resembles a natural tooth is called the crown, also known as the restoration. Typically, the crown is screwed or cemented to the abutment.
If the abutment and crown are screwed together, a composite material is usually placed on top of the screw hole to give it a more natural appearance.
Types of Dental Implants
Endosteal Implants
These are the most common dental implants because they are appropriate for most patients but require enough healthy jawbone for the post to fuse. A placeholder post has the shape of a screw. It is inserted into the jawbone, onto which the false teeth are fitted.
After the procedure, the healing period could last a week or two. It takes time to fuse and form a firm hold.
Once the wound has healed completely, the false teeth can be fitted to the post to match the surrounding teeth.
If you don’t like the idea of something implanted in your jawbone, you might prefer the second most common type of implant.
Subperiosteal Implants
Contrary to endosteal dental implants, this dental implant sits on top of the bone but is still under the gum.
Patients with the insufficient jawbone to support an implant or have previously undergone extensive oral surgery to build up the area’s bone should consider this procedure.
Zygomatic Implants
This implant is surgically implanted into the patient’s cheekbone. It is the least common type of dental implant among the others, and it is the most complicated procedure that should only be performed if you do not have enough jawbone for endosteal dental implants.
What do Dental Implant Procedures Involve?
Consultation
An initial consultation with your Cabramatta dentist will be held, followed by X-rays and study models. A treatment plan with associated costs will be prepared and presented after careful consideration, studies, and discussions.
Surgery
The titanium implants will be surgically placed into the jaw by your dentist in Cabramatta. The integration will take about 4-6 months, during which any necessary temporary teeth will be inserted.
Prosthetic placement of tooth/teeth
Your dentist will uncover the implant, take impressions, and build a model for the new crowns or bridges using those impressions. Because the implants are a part of the jaw bone, the replacement tooth or teeth will be able to look, feel, and perform exactly like your own natural tooth or teeth.
