FAQ

There are a few things you can do to help after your wisdom tooth has been removed. For the first 24 hours, you should avoid eating hot food or drinking hot drinks.

Other things to avoid include rinsing your mouth with mouthwash, undertaking strenuous activities, and smoking. If you experience any ongoing discomfort after the procedure, please give us a call.

Here at Marketfair Dental Care, we do everything we can to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible while you’re with us. Most wisdom teeth are completed under a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort while the tooth is being removed.

We have well-trained and highly professional dentists to help you. At your appointment, we will discuss with you the full range of options to give you the best possible experience.

Not all wisdom teeth are the same. In some cases, wisdom teeth can be impacted (pushing up against other teeth) and are more difficult to remove.

At your first consultation, we’ll take an x-ray of your mouth to see the position of your wisdom tooth. From there, we will advise the cost of the extraction and the technique we use to minimise any discomfort for you.

At your next consultation, we will perform the wisdom tooth extraction. The time it takes to remove the tooth can vary depending on a number of factors. We can discuss this with you at your appointment.

The most common reason that clients come to us seeking their wisdom teeth removed is to get out of pain. Apart from this, extracting your wisdom tooth can prevent problems in the future. Some of the problems associated with wisdom teeth include:

  • swollen gums and infection
  • bad breath
  • damage to other teeth or your jawbone

We can help you with a solution that is best for your teeth.

Please contact us for an appointment to discuss which option is best for you.
